Water Alliance

The Water Alliance is a unique partnership of public and private companies, government agencies and knowledge institutes involved in water technology in the Netherlands. The Water Alliance focuses on innovative and sustainable water technology that can be used worldwide. It brings together a complete chain of innovation for water technology, from first idea, research & development, specialised laboratories, a water application centre, various demo sites, launching customers to international applications with commercial companies. Indeed from knowledge to business. It is driven by the idea that technological development and innovation is needed to develop new markets and thus create new business opportunities for the water technology industry. In this way the Netherlands will become the European Water Technology Hub, with its focal point at the WaterCampus Leeuwarden.

Wetsus

Wetsus, European centre of excellence for sustainable water technology, is a facilitating intermediary for trendsetting know-how development. Wetsus creates a unique environment and strategic cooperation for development of profitable and sustainable state of the art water treatment technology. The inspiring and multidisciplinary collaboration between over 105 companies and 23 EU research institutes in Wetsus results in innovations that contribute significantly to the solution of the global water problems. Wetsus’ scientific research program is defined by the private and public water sector and conducted by leading universities.

CEW

The Centre of Expertise Water Technology (CEW) conducts applied research for forward-thinking companies looking to take the next step towards a sustainable and circular economy. Every year, we deploy more than 300 students to bring fresh ideas, innovation and insight to our research projects. These students carry out the research, complemented by the knowledge and experience of CEW researchers and applied research professors. With CEW’s support, technologies are developed and demonstrated from lab to launch. By conducting applied research, CEW accelerates innovation whilst training the future generation of water technology professionals. Our tailor-made approach to research supports the needs of SME’s, end-users, industries, and public organisations.
