Vortices in water technology: a new frontier

This session explores the emerging role of vortical flow structures in water technology, from classical turbulence to more structured vortex regimes. Contributions will address both fundamental mechanisms and practical perspectives. A particular focus lies on the relevance of vortices for processes such as drinking water treatment and wastewater aeration, highlighting their potential as a unifying concept in modern water engineering.
