In the Deltas in the world fresh water sources are getting scarce and salinity affects agricultural production. What are the experiences in different areas such as Vietnam and Egypt? And what is the position of the Netherlands when it comes to practical solutions? Salta (Institute for Agricultural in Salinizing Deltas) is established to connect research to the operational level of farmers and water managers. The foundation bundles the knowledge and expertise of 60 private and public organisations in the Netherlands. Their strong focus on awareness raising and action makes Salta unique in its kind.
In this interactive session Peter Prins (CEO Salta) will share international experiences, present some ground breaking solutions for fresh water harvesting and storage. We will also discuss the need for innovations in water technology to achieve affordable and effective techniques for water treatment and desalination. Partners of the Salta network will be encouraged to share their experiences in the session.
